Xperia Tablet S is a little bit better than the Acer Iconia A3, having a general score of 58.9 against 55.2. Although it's the best tablet in this review, it must be noted that it is also an older, just a little heavier and somewhat thicker tablet. Both devices we are comparing include Android OS (Operating System), but the Xperia Tablet S has an older 4.1.1 version and Acer Iconia A3 has Android 4.2.
Xperia Tablet S features just a bit better hardware performance than Acer Iconia A3, and although they both have a 1 GB RAM memory and the same number of cores, the Xperia Tablet S also has a faster GPU working at 416 MHz. The Acer Iconia A3 counts with a better looking display than Sony Xperia Tablet S, because although it has a just a bit less pixels per screen inch, and they both have exactly the same 800 x 1280 resolution, the Acer Iconia A3 also counts with a quite bigger display.
The Sony Xperia Tablet S has a superior storage to store more games and applications than Acer Iconia A3, because it has 48 GB more internal memory capacity and a SD memory card expansion slot that holds up to 128 GB. The Acer Iconia A3 features a superior battery lifetime than Sony Xperia Tablet S.
Xperia Tablet S has a slightly better camera than Acer Iconia A3, because it has a lot more mega-pixels camera in the back.
Xperia Tablet S costs more money than the Acer Iconia A3, but it's still a great deal, as you can get a much better tablet for that extra money.
