Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) is a a lot newer tablet, and it's also lighter and somewhat thinner than Acer Iconia Tab A700. Both of these tablets include Android operating system, but the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) has a newer 9.0 Pie version while Acer Iconia Tab A700 has Android 4.1 version.
