The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 has a global score of 58.1, which is just a bit better than the Acer Iconia W3's global score of 57.3. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 has Android 3.0 OS, while Acer Iconia W3 counts with Windows 8 Pro OS. Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 is a a little lighter and thinner tablet than Acer Iconia W3.
Acer Iconia W3 has a superior hardware performance than Galaxy Tab 8.9. Both have 2 processing cores. The Acer Iconia W3 counts with a bit sharper display than Galaxy Tab 8.9, because although it has a quite smaller screen, and they both have exactly the same 800 x 1280 resolution, the Acer Iconia W3 also counts with a bit better display pixels density.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 has just a bit better camera than Acer Iconia W3, because it has a camera in the back with much more mega pixels.
