Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 is a pretty good tablet device launched back in the year 2011, including a big size 8.9 inches multi touch screen, a great performance Dual-Core CPU speeding at 1000 MHz, and two cameras, a 3 MP back facing camera and a 2 MP front facing camera.
Samsung decided to sell this tablet with a fast Dual-Core CPU clocking at 1 GHz. A key aspect of this tablet is the 64 GB large internal storage memory and though it doesn't come with an external memory card slot, it is still enough to install hundreds of apps without even thinking about how much memory is left.
The Tab 8.9 is quite a compact portable tablet, considering it packs a 8.9" screen and it is just 9.09 inches long. The Tab 8.9 is thin and comfortable, being just 0.34 inches thick. Apparently Samsung forgot about weight optimization in this 15.98 ounces tablet.
This tablet has a nice 8.9 inches display with a 800 x 1280 resolution, which makes all pictures and videos look quite colorful and brightful. This display uses TFT capacitive technology, and has multi-touch detection.
The Tab 8.9 features two cameras, a 3 megapixels back facing camera and a 2 MP front camera. It is capable of capturing HD 1280x720 videos. This portable tablet also has auto-focus and flash.
This tablet offers WiFi capability (although it can't provide it to other devices around, as a mobile hotspot), 4G (HSPA+) connection type, that is not so fast as LTE-A or LTE 4G networks and fast 3G connectivity, using HSDPA, HSPA, HSUPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 uses a SIM card to connect to GSM networks.
This tablet also features a handful of useful features as Bluetooth (3.0, EDR) and GPS Navigation, and lots of sensors like Light Sensor, Accelerometer, Gyroscope and Compass.
The Tab 8.9 packs a great 6000 mAh Li-Ion non-removable battery, enough to provide this tablet with an incredibly long battery life. An issue to evaluate is that this tablet's battery is not replaceable so you can't change it when it begins to last shorter, while having 6000 mAh you will probably discard this portable tablet before that becomes an issue.
Samsung is offering the Tab 8.9 for $ 269, which is a very high price for a device this level. This device is a great option for you if you need a device mainly for internet broswing and social networks, want a device for work or are looking for a tablet device for gaming.
