Comparison review
The Microsoft Surface 2 is better than the Acer Iconia W510, getting a 63.4 score against 57.5. Microsoft Surface 2's construction has the same thickness than the Acer Iconia W510, but it is somewhat heavier. Both of these tablets include Windows OS (Operating System), but the Microsoft Surface 2 has the newer RT 8.1 version and Acer Iconia W510 has Windows 8 version, providing a lot of extra features.
Microsoft Surface 2 and Acer Iconia W510 both have really similar processing units, because although the Microsoft Surface 2 has doesn't have a graphics co-processor, and they both have 2 GB of RAM, it also counts with 2 more cores. Microsoft Surface 2 counts with a little bit better looking display than Acer Iconia W510, because it has a higher 1080 x 1920 resolution, a little bigger display and more pixels per inch of screen.
The Microsoft Surface 2 features slightly more storage capacity to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Acer Iconia W510, because although it has no external memory slot, it also counts with 32 GB more internal memory. The Acer Iconia W510 features a much better battery duration than Microsoft Surface 2.
The Acer Iconia W510 captures clearer videos and photos than Microsoft Surface 2, and although they both have the same video frame rates and the same video resolution, the Acer Iconia W510 also has a camera in the back with a lot higher resolution.
Although Microsoft Surface 2 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Acer Iconia W510, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Acer Iconia W510. If you prefer to save a few dollars, you can buy the Acer Iconia W510, giving up a few specs and features, but you'll get the most with your savings.
