Alcatel JOY TAB has a global score of 59.4, which is just a bit better than the Galaxy Tab 8.9's 58.1 general score. Both of these tablets have Android OS (Operating System), but Alcatel JOY TAB has a more recent 9.0 Pie version while Galaxy Tab 8.9 has Android 3.0 version. Alcatel JOY TAB's body has the same thickness than the Galaxy Tab 8.9, but it's noticeably lighter.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 counts with a sharper screen than Alcatel JOY TAB, because although it has a bit lower amount of pixels per inch of display, and they both have exactly the same 800 x 1280px resolution, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 also counts with a quite bigger screen. The Alcatel JOY TAB features a quite superior performance than Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9, because it has a larger number of faster cores.
Alcatel JOY TAB has a little bit better memory to install games and applications than Galaxy Tab 8.9, because although it has only 32 GB internal memory, it also counts with a slot for external memory cards that allows up to 128 GB. The Alcatel JOY TAB has a very superior camera than Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9, and although they both have the same (HD) video quality and the same video frame rates, the Alcatel JOY TAB also has a way better resolution back facing camera.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 counts with a much better battery duration than Alcatel JOY TAB, because it has a 6000mAh battery capacity instead of 4080mAh.
