The Sony Tablet S has a global score of 57.5, which is just a bit better than Alcatel OneTouch Tab 7 HD's 53.4 score. Although it's the best portable tablet in this comparison review, we must highlight that it's also an older, much heavier and somewhat thicker portable tablet. Both tablets we compare here come with Android OS (Operating System), but Sony Tablet S has an older 4.0 version and Alcatel OneTouch Tab 7 HD has Android 4.1 version.
Alcatel OneTouch Tab 7 HD counts with just a bit better screen than Sony Tablet S, because although it has a lot smaller display, and they both have the same 800 x 1280 resolution, the Alcatel OneTouch Tab 7 HD also counts with a higher display density. Sony Tablet S features a much greater storage capacity for applications and games than Alcatel OneTouch Tab 7 HD, and although they both have a SD card slot that admits up to 32 GB, the Sony Tablet S also has more internal storage capacity.
The Alcatel OneTouch Tab 7 HD features a better performing processing unit than Sony Tablet S, and although they both have 2 CPU cores and a 1 GB RAM memory, the Alcatel OneTouch Tab 7 HD also has an extra graphics processor. The Sony Tablet S counts with a really longer battery duration than Alcatel OneTouch Tab 7 HD, because it has a 5000mAh battery size against 3300mAh.
Sony Tablet S counts with a very superior camera than Alcatel OneTouch Tab 7 HD, because it has a lot more mega-pixels back-facing camera.
Although Sony Tablet S is a better device, it costs a lot more than Alcatel OneTouch Tab 7 HD, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Alcatel OneTouch Tab 7 HD. If you prefer to save some dollars, you can buy the Alcatel OneTouch Tab 7 HD, and give up a few specs and features, but you will get the most with your savings.
