Both of these devices include Android OS (operating system), but Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 has the older 4.4.2 version while Amazon Fire HD 10 has Android 5.0. Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 is a notably older and a bit thicker device than Amazon Fire HD 10, but Samsung was able to build it notably lighter anyway.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 has a superior hardware performance than Amazon Fire HD 10, because it has an extra GPU, a higher amount of RAM memory and a greater number of cores (and also faster). Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 has a little bit better screen than Amazon Fire HD 10, because although it has a much smaller display, and they both have an equal 800 x 1280 pixels resolution, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 also counts with a better amount of pixels per display inch.

The Galaxy Note 8.0 features a very superior camera than Amazon Fire HD 10. Both of them have the same 1280x720 (HD) video quality, a same resolution camera and the same video frame rate. Amazon Fire HD 10 has just a bit more storage to store more apps and games than Galaxy Note 8.0, and although they both have exactly the same internal memory capacity, the Amazon Fire HD 10 also has an external memory card slot that admits up to 128 GB.
