Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 is a bit better than the Amazon Fire HD 6, with a 58.1 score against 55. Both devices in this comparison review include Android OS (operating system), but the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 has the previous 3.0 version while Amazon Fire HD 6 has Android 4.4. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 construction is thinner than the Amazon Fire HD 6, although it is much heavier and was released 4 years before.

Amazon Fire HD 6 features a bit sharper display than Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9, because although it has a way smaller display, and they both have an equal 1280 x 800 pixels resolution, the Amazon Fire HD 6 also counts with a greater pixel quantity per inch of display. The Galaxy Tab 8.9 counts with a much bigger memory for applications, games, photos and videos than Amazon Fire HD 6, because it has 64 GB internal memory.

The Amazon Fire HD 6 features a greater processing power than Galaxy Tab 8.9, because it has a higher number of cores. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 captures clearer videos and photos than Amazon Fire HD 6, and although they both have the same (HD) video definition and the same video frame rates, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 also has a back camera with a lot higher resolution.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 counts with a really longer battery life than Amazon Fire HD 6.

Although Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 is a better device, it costs a lot more than Amazon Fire HD 6, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Amazon Fire HD 6. So if you need that extra specs and features, you can buy the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9, but if you don't you can save some dollars and buy the Amazon Fire HD 6, letting go some specs and features.
