Comparison review
Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD is just a bit better than the Amazon Fire HD 6, with a overall score of 57.6 against 55. Both tablets in this review use Android OS (operating system), but Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD has newer 6.0 Marshmallow version and Amazon Fire HD 6 has Android 4.4 version. Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD's design is noticeably newer and way thinner than the Amazon Fire HD 6's, although it's heavier.
The Amazon Fire HD 6 features just a bit better looking display than Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD, although it has a way smaller display, a little bit lower screen density and a way worse 1280 x 800 resolution. Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD features much more memory capacity to install applications and games than Amazon Fire HD 6, and although they both have exactly the same internal memory capacity, the Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD also has a SD extension slot that allows a maximum of 128 GB.
Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD counts with a little bit better performance than Amazon Fire HD 6, because it has more RAM and a larger number of 1500 MHz cores. The Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD has a way better camera than Amazon Fire HD 6, and although they both have the same video frame rate and the same 1920x1080 video quality, the Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD also has a back-facing camera with a lot higher 8 mega-pixels resolution.
Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD counts with a superior battery performance than Amazon Fire HD 6.
Although Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD is a better device, it costs a lot more than the Amazon Fire HD 6, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Amazon Fire HD 6. So if you want that extra features and specs, you can buy Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD, but if you don't you can save a couple dollars and buy the Amazon Fire HD 6, resigning some features and specifications.
