Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has a global score of 67.9, which is a lot better than the Amazon Fire HD 7's overall score of 54.8. Both devices in this comparison review come with the same Android 4.4 operating system, so both should provide identical OS features. The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 design is heavier but way thinner than the Amazon Fire HD 7, and both of them were only released with a few months difference.
Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has a more vivid screen than Amazon Fire HD 7, because it has a way better 1600 x 2560px resolution, a much higher pixels amount per inch in the display and a bigger display. The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has a much better storage to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Amazon Fire HD 7, because it has 64 GB internal memory.
Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has just a bit better performance than Amazon Fire HD 7, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 also has a greater amount of RAM memory. Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 counts with a battery duration that is very similar to Amazon Fire HD 7's battery lifetime.

Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 is way more expensive than the Amazon Fire HD 7, but it's still a convenient choice, as you can get a much better tablet for that extra money.
