Comparison review
Microsoft Surface 2 is much better than the Amazon Fire HD 7, getting a 63.4 score against 54.8. The Microsoft Surface 2 has Windows RT 8.1 operating system, while Amazon Fire HD 7 counts with Android 4.4 operating system. Even though Microsoft Surface 2 is older and heavier than Amazon Fire HD 7, it's body is still somewhat thinner.
The Microsoft Surface 2 counts with a bit superior CPU than Amazon Fire HD 7, and although they both have a Quad-Core processor, the Microsoft Surface 2 also has a higher amount of RAM memory. Amazon Fire HD 7 has a bit more vivid screen than Microsoft Surface 2, because although it has a way lower 1280 x 800 resolution and a much smaller display, it also counts with a bit more pixels per display inch.
Microsoft Surface 2 has a better camera than Amazon Fire HD 7, and although they both have the same (Full HD) video definition and the same video frame rates, the Microsoft Surface 2 also has a lot better 5 MP resolution camera. Microsoft Surface 2 counts with a much bigger storage for applications, games, photos and videos than Amazon Fire HD 7, because it has more internal memory capacity.
The Microsoft Surface 2's battery life is very similar to Amazon Fire HD 7's battery life.
Although Microsoft Surface 2 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Amazon Fire HD 7, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Amazon Fire HD 7. If you want to save some money, you can get the Amazon Fire HD 7, and give up a couple features, but you will get the most with your money.
