Although it's the best in this comparison, the Microsoft Surface Pro body is noticeably older, incredibly thicker and way heavier than Amazon Fire HD 7.

Microsoft Surface Pro has a bit better processor than Amazon Fire HD 7, because although it has a lower number of cores (although faster), it also counts with an extra graphics co-processor and 3 GB more RAM. The Amazon Fire HD 7 counts with just a bit better looking display than Microsoft Surface Pro, because although it has a way smaller display and a way worse 1280 x 800 pixels resolution, it also counts with a quite greater display density.

Amazon Fire HD 7 has just a bit better camera than Microsoft Surface Pro, because it has a camera with lot more megapixels and a much better (Full HD) video definition. The Microsoft Surface Pro features much more storage capacity for applications, games, photos and videos than Amazon Fire HD 7, because it has 128 GB internal storage.

The Microsoft Surface Pro's battery lifetime is just as good as Amazon Fire HD 7's battery life.

Although Microsoft Surface Pro is a better device, it is way more expensive than the Amazon Fire HD 7, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Amazon Fire HD 7. If you want to save a few dollars, you can get the Amazon Fire HD 7, letting go a couple features, but you'll get the most out of your money.
