Comparison review
The Samsung Ativ Tab is a lot better than Amazon Fire HD 7, with a 66.7 score against 54.8. The Samsung Ativ Tab works with Windows RT OS, while Amazon Fire HD 7 counts with Android 4.4 OS. Samsung Ativ Tab is a notably older and a lot heavier portable tablet than Amazon Fire HD 7, but Samsung made it thinner anyway.
The Samsung Ativ Tab counts with a bit faster processing unit than Amazon Fire HD 7, because although it has a lower number of 1500 MHz cores, it also counts with a larger amount of RAM and an extra graphics processing unit. The Amazon Fire HD 7 has a better screen than Samsung Ativ Tab, because although it has a little lower resolution of 1280 x 800 and a really smaller display, it also counts with a better pixel count per display inch.
The Samsung Ativ Tab has much more storage for apps and games than Amazon Fire HD 7, because it has a SD card slot that admits up to 64 GB and 64 GB internal memory. Samsung Ativ Tab captures much better pictures and videos than Amazon Fire HD 7, and although they both have the same 1280x720 video quality and the same video frame rates, the Samsung Ativ Tab also has a back facing camera with way more mega-pixels.
Samsung Ativ Tab features a really longer battery duration than Amazon Fire HD 7.
Although Samsung Ativ Tab is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Amazon Fire HD 7, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Amazon Fire HD 7. If you are trying to save a few dollars, you can get Amazon Fire HD 7, and give up a few specs and features, but you'll get the most with your budget.
