Comparison review

Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 is much better than Amazon Fire HD 7, getting a general score of 66 against 54.8. Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 is a notably thinner and a little bit lighter tablet than Amazon Fire HD 7, although both were released only 6 months apart. Both devices in this review have Android OS, but the Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 has the newer 4.4.2 version while Amazon Fire HD 7 has Android 4.4, offering some extra features.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 counts with a CPU that's very similar to the CPU in Amazon Fire HD 7, and although the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 has an extra GPU and a higher amount of RAM memory, they both have 4 cpu cores. The Amazon Fire HD 7 features just a bit better looking screen than Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, because although it has a little bit smaller display, and they both have the same resolution of 1280 x 800, the Amazon Fire HD 7 also counts with a just a bit higher screen pixels density.

The Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 takes much clearer photos and videos than Amazon Fire HD 7, and although they both have the same (HD) video quality and the same video frame rates, the Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 also has a much more megapixels camera in the back. The Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 has a much bigger memory capacity to store more apps and games than Amazon Fire HD 7, and although they both have the same 16 GB internal storage capacity, the Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 also has an external memory slot that admits up to 64 GB.

The Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 has a much better battery life than Amazon Fire HD 7.

The Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 is a little more expensive than Amazon Fire HD 7, but it's still a great deal, as you can get a much better tablet for that extra money.
