Galaxy Tab S 8.4 is way better than Amazon Fire HD 7, with a general score of 74.5 against 54.8. Galaxy Tab S 8.4's construction is lighter and much thinner than the Amazon Fire HD 7, even though they were only released with a couple of months difference. Both tablets in this comparison use Android OS (operating system), but the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 has the newer 4.4.2 version and Amazon Fire HD 7 has Android 4.4 version.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 features a bit more powerful processing unit than Amazon Fire HD 7, because it has 2 GB more RAM memory and a greater number of faster cores. Galaxy Tab S 8.4 counts with a better display than Amazon Fire HD 7, because it has a way better pixels amount per inch in the screen, a much better resolution of 2560 x 1600 and a larger display.
