Microsoft Surface 2 has a global score of 63.4, which is much better than Amazon Fire HD 8's overall score of 54.1. Microsoft Surface 2 works with Windows RT 8.1 OS, while Amazon Fire HD 8 comes with Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. Even being the best we compare here, Microsoft Surface 2's body is extremely older, thicker and heavier than Amazon Fire HD 8.
Microsoft Surface 2 counts with a sharper display than Amazon Fire HD 8, because it has a lot higher resolution of 1080 x 1920, a little better amount of pixels in each display inch and a way bigger display. Microsoft Surface 2 counts with a quite bigger memory for apps and games than Amazon Fire HD 8, because although it has no SD extension slot, it also counts with 64 GB internal memory capacity.
Microsoft Surface 2 has a bit better processor than Amazon Fire HD 8, and although they both have 4 CPU cores, the Microsoft Surface 2 also has a higher amount of RAM memory.
