The Microsoft Surface Pro 3 is way better than Amazon Fire HD 8, getting a global score of 72.2 against 54.1. The Microsoft Surface Pro 3 body is older, thicker and notably heavier than Amazon Fire HD 8. The Microsoft Surface Pro 3 works with Windows 8.1 Pro OS, while Amazon Fire HD 8 counts with Android 5.0 Lollipop OS.
Microsoft Surface Pro 3 features just a bit better processing power than Amazon Fire HD 8, because although it has less processing cores (although they are faster), it also counts with 7 GB more RAM. The Microsoft Surface Pro 3 features a more vivid screen than Amazon Fire HD 8, because it has a just a little better screen density, a much larger display and a way higher resolution of 1440 x 2160 pixels.
The Microsoft Surface Pro 3 captures much better videos and photos than Amazon Fire HD 8. Both of them have the same 1920x1080 video resolution, the same video frame rate and the same resolution back facing camera.
