Samsung Ativ Tab is a lot better than the Amazon Fire HD 8, getting a 66.7 score against 54.1. Samsung Ativ Tab is a better portable tablet than Amazon Fire HD 8, it must be noted that it is also incredibly older, somewhat thicker and extremely heavier. The Samsung Ativ Tab comes with Windows RT OS, and Amazon Fire HD 8 has Android 5.0 Lollipop OS.
The Samsung Ativ Tab has a bit superior processing unit than Amazon Fire HD 8, because although it has lesser 1.5 GHz cpu cores, it also counts with a graphics processing unit and a greater amount of RAM memory. Samsung Ativ Tab counts with a bit better display than Amazon Fire HD 8, because although it has a little worse screen density, it also counts with a little bit higher resolution of 768 x 1366 and a bigger display.
Samsung Ativ Tab captures better pictures and videos than Amazon Fire HD 8. Both have the same 1280x720 video resolution, a 5 mega-pixels back-facing camera and the same video frame rates. The Samsung Ativ Tab counts with a very superior memory to install applications and games than Amazon Fire HD 8, because although it has an external memory card slot that allows up to 64 GB against 128 GB, it also counts with 64 GB internal storage capacity.
The Samsung Ativ Tab has a much longer battery duration than Amazon Fire HD 8.
Although Samsung Ativ Tab is a better device, it costs a lot more than Amazon Fire HD 8, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Amazon Fire HD 8. So if you need that extra features and specs, you can buy the Samsung Ativ Tab, but if you don't you can save some money and get the Amazon Fire HD 8, resigning a couple features and specifications.
