The Galaxy Note 10.1 LTE has an overall score of 63, which is much better than the Amazon Fire HD 8's 54.1 overall score. Both tablets in this comparison review use Android OS (Operating System), but the Galaxy Note 10.1 LTE has the older 4.4.2 version while Amazon Fire HD 8 has Android 5.0 Lollipop. The Galaxy Note 10.1 LTE construction is notably older, extremely heavier and somewhat thicker than the Amazon Fire HD 8.
Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 LTE counts with a little bit better looking display than Amazon Fire HD 8, because although it has a just a little worse pixel count per inch of display, and they both have exactly the same 800 x 1280 resolution, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 LTE also counts with a bigger screen.
The Amazon Fire HD 8 counts with a bit bigger memory to store more apps and games than Galaxy Note 10.1 LTE, and although they both have the same internal memory capacity, the Amazon Fire HD 8 also has an external memory slot that holds a maximum of 128 GB. Amazon Fire HD 8 features a little bit better processing power than Galaxy Note 10.1 LTE, although it has a lower amount of RAM, they both have the same number of cores.
The Galaxy Note 10.1 LTE has a battery life that is just as good as the battery life in Amazon Fire HD 8. Galaxy Note 10.1 LTE shoots much clearer photographs and videos than Amazon Fire HD 8. Both have the same video frame rate, a same resolution camera in the back and the same 1280x720 (HD) video resolution.
Although Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 LTE is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Amazon Fire HD 8, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Amazon Fire HD 8. If you want to save a few dollars, you can buy Amazon Fire HD 8, and give up a few features and specs, but you'll get the most with your budget.
