The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 has a general score of 58.1, which is a bit better than the Amazon Fire HD 8's 54.1 general score. Both of these devices work with Android OS (operating system), but the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 has 4.0.4 version while Amazon Fire HD 8 has Android 5.0 Lollipop version. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 body is extremely older, much heavier and somewhat thicker than Amazon Fire HD 8.

The Amazon Fire HD 8 has a better performance than Galaxy Tab 10.1, because it has more processing cores. The Galaxy Tab 10.1 features a little more vivid display than Amazon Fire HD 8, because although it has a just a bit less pixels per inch in the display, and they both have an equal resolution of 800 x 1280 pixels, the Galaxy Tab 10.1 also counts with a larger display.

The Amazon Fire HD 8 features a better memory for applications, games, photos and videos than Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, because although it has only 16 GB internal storage capacity, it also counts with a slot for SD memory cards that allows a maximum of 128 GB. Galaxy Tab 10.1 has a way better battery life than Amazon Fire HD 8.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 features a much better camera than Amazon Fire HD 8, although it has a much less MP resolution back camera and a worse 1920x1080 (Full HD) video quality.

Although Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than Amazon Fire HD 8, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Amazon Fire HD 8. So if you want that extra features and specs, you can buy the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, but if you don't you can save a couple dollars and buy the Amazon Fire HD 8, resigning some features and specifications.
