The Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (AT&T) is a lot better than the Amazon Fire HD 8, having a general score of 65 against 54.1. These tablets have Android OS (Operating System), but the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (AT&T) has older 4.1 version while Amazon Fire HD 8 has Android 5.0 Lollipop. Even being the best portable tablet we compare here, Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (AT&T) is a notably older, noticeably thicker and incredibly heavier portable tablet than Amazon Fire HD 8.

The Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (AT&T) features a little bit better display than Amazon Fire HD 8, because although it has a just a bit inferior count of pixels per inch of display, and they both have exactly the same resolution of 800 x 1280, the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (AT&T) also counts with a larger display. The Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (AT&T)'s processor is just as good as the Amazon Fire HD 8 one, because although the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (AT&T) has an inferior number of cores, and they both have 1 GB of RAM memory, it also counts with a GPU.

The Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (AT&T)'s camera is just as good as Amazon Fire HD 8's camera, although the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (AT&T) has a worse 1920x1080 (Full HD) video resolution and a lot lower resolution back facing camera. The Amazon Fire HD 8 features a quite bigger storage capacity for apps and games than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (AT&T), and although they both have equal internal storage capacity, the Amazon Fire HD 8 also has a SD memory card expansion slot that supports up to 128 GB.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (AT&T) has a really longer battery duration than Amazon Fire HD 8.

Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (AT&T) costs a lot more than Amazon Fire HD 8, but it's still a great choice, as you can get a much better tablet for that extra money.
