Comparison review

The Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 has a score of 67.8, which is a lot better than the Amazon Fire HD 8's 54.1 overall score. These devices use Android OS (operating system), but the Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 has older 4.4.2 version while Amazon Fire HD 8 has Android 5.0 Lollipop. The Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 design is older, a lot heavier and just a bit thicker than Amazon Fire HD 8.

The Amazon Fire HD 8 and the Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 both count with extremely similar CPUs, and although the Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 has a graphics co-processor and more RAM, they both have 4 cores. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 features a bit better looking display than Amazon Fire HD 8, because although it has a bit lower display pixel density, and they both have an equal resolution of 800 x 1280px, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 also counts with a bigger screen.

The Amazon Fire HD 8 features a slightly better memory for applications and games than Galaxy Tab 4 10.1, and although they both have equal 16 GB internal memory capacity, the Amazon Fire HD 8 also has a SD memory card expansion slot that holds a maximum of 128 GB. Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 has a superior battery duration than Amazon Fire HD 8.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 captures much clearer photos and videos than Amazon Fire HD 8, although it has a way worse (HD) video quality and a back-facing camera with a way worse resolution.

Despite of being the best tablet of the ones we compare here, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 is also very cheap compared to the other ones, which makes this tablet an obvious call.
