Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 has an overall score of 65.6, which is much better than Amazon Fire HD 8's 54.1 overall score. Both of these tablets have Android operating system, but the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 has the previous 4.4.2 version while Amazon Fire HD 8 has Android 5.0 Lollipop version. Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0's body is lighter than Amazon Fire HD 8, but it's thicker and was released around 18 months before.

Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 features a more vivid screen than Amazon Fire HD 8, because although it has a quite smaller screen, and they both have exactly the same 1280 x 800px resolution, the Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 also counts with a little greater screen density. Amazon Fire HD 8 has a superior memory for apps and games than Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0, because it has an external memory card slot that admits up to 128 GB and more internal memory.
