Amazon Fire HD 8 Plus (2020) is a little bit better than the Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7, with a overall score of 59.7 against 59.2. These tablets include Android OS (Operating System), but the Amazon Fire HD 8 Plus (2020) has 9.0 Pie version and Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7 has Android 4.2.2 version, giving you some nice extra features and a performance increase. Amazon Fire HD 8 Plus (2020)'s body is way newer, but a little thicker and somewhat heavier than the Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7.
The Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7 counts with a much sharper screen than Amazon Fire HD 8 Plus (2020), because although it has a little smaller screen, it also counts with a way better resolution of 1200 x 1920px and way more pixels per display inch. The Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7 features a little better hardware performance than Amazon Fire HD 8 Plus (2020), because although it has a smaller amount of RAM, and they both have a Quad-Core CPU, the Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7 also counts with an additional GPU.
