The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018) has an overall score of 68.3, which is better than the Amazon Fire HD 8 Plus (2020)'s score of 59.7. Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018) is an older and just a little heavier tablet than Amazon Fire HD 8 Plus (2020), but Samsung managed to make it just a little bit thinner anyway. Both of these tablets work with Android operating system, but the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018) has the previous 8.1 Oreo version while Amazon Fire HD 8 Plus (2020) has Android 9.0 Pie.

The Amazon Fire HD 8 Plus (2020) features a little better hardware performance than Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018), and although they both have the same number of cores, the Amazon Fire HD 8 Plus (2020) also has a larger amount of RAM. The Amazon Fire HD 8 Plus (2020) has a little more vivid screen than Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018). They have a screen of the same size, the same exact 800 x 1280 pixels resolution and a greater quantity of pixels per screen inch.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018) has a very superior camera than Amazon Fire HD 8 Plus (2020), because it has a much higher 1920x1080 (Full HD) video resolution and a lot higher resolution back facing camera. Amazon Fire HD 8 Plus (2020) counts with a bigger storage capacity to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018), and although they both have the same 32 GB internal storage capacity, the Amazon Fire HD 8 Plus (2020) also has a slot for external memory cards that allows a maximum of 1000 GB.

Although Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018) is a better device, it costs a lot more than Amazon Fire HD 8 Plus (2020), and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Amazon Fire HD 8 Plus (2020). So if you need that extra specs, you can buy the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018), but if you don't you can save some money and buy the Amazon Fire HD 8 Plus (2020), giving up a couple features and specifications.
