The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has a score of 67.9, which is better than the Acer Iconia W511's 59.5 overall score. The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 is a somewhat thinner and incredibly lighter tablet than the Acer Iconia W511. The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has Android 4.4 OS, and Acer Iconia W511 works with Windows 8 Pro OS.
Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has just a bit better performance than Acer Iconia W511, and although they both have a 2 GB RAM memory, the Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 also has a greater number of cores. The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has a lot better display than Acer Iconia W511, because although it has a little bit smaller display, it also counts with a much better pixels count per inch in the display and a much higher resolution of 1600 x 2560 pixels.
Acer Iconia W511 counts with a way bigger storage capacity for applications, games, photos and videos than Amazon Fire HDX 8.9, and although they both have equal internal memory capacity, the Acer Iconia W511 also has an external memory slot that admits up to 64 GB. The Acer Iconia W511 has a much longer battery lifetime than Amazon Fire HDX 8.9.
Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 features a slightly better camera than Acer Iconia W511. Both of them have a 8 mega-pixels resolution camera in the back.
Although Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 is a better device, it is way more expensive than Acer Iconia W511, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Acer Iconia W511. So if you need that extra features, you can buy Amazon Fire HDX 8.9, otherwise you can save some money and buy the Acer Iconia W511, giving up a couple features and specifications.
