Comparison review
The Apple iPad Air 2 is better than the Amazon Fire HDX 8.9, with a 79.3 score against 67.9. Although Apple iPad Air 2 and the Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 were only released with a few months difference, the Apple iPad Air 2 construction is noticeably thinner but also somewhat heavier. Apple iPad Air 2 has iOS 8.x OS, and Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 works with Android 4.4 OS.
Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 counts with just a bit better looking display than Apple iPad Air 2, because although it has a quite smaller screen, it also counts with a quite better resolution of 1600 x 2560px and a better pixels density. The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has a little better performance than iPad Air 2, because although it has a 32 bits processing unit against 64-bits, and they both have the same RAM amount, the Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 also counts with a larger number of cores.
The iPad Air 2 counts with a superior storage for games and applications than Amazon Fire HDX 8.9, because it has 128 GB internal storage. The Apple iPad Air 2 has a superior battery life than Amazon Fire HDX 8.9. Apple iPad Air 2 has a way better camera than Amazon Fire HDX 8.9, although it has a tinier camera aperture, they both have a camera with an 8 megapixels, the same video frame rate and the same 1920x1080 video quality.
