The iPad mini 2 is better than Amazon Fire HDX 8.9, having a score of 77.2 against 67.9. IPad mini 2's construction has the same thickness than Amazon Fire HDX 8.9, but it is a little bit lighter. The iPad mini 2 comes with iOS 8.x operating system, and Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 comes with Android 4.4 operating system.
The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has a slightly better display than iPad mini 2, because it has a just a bit greater pixel density, a little bit bigger display and a slightly higher 1600 x 2560 resolution. The Apple iPad mini 2 has a way bigger storage for apps and games than Amazon Fire HDX 8.9, because it has 128 GB internal memory capacity.
