The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 counts with a bit superior processing unit than Asus Fonepad 7, although it has a 32 bits processing unit instead of 64-bits, they both have the same RAM amount and a Quad-Core processing unit. Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 counts with a brighter screen than Asus Fonepad 7, because it has a bigger display, a lot better pixel amount per display inch and a way higher resolution of 1600 x 2560 pixels.
The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 captures much better pictures and videos than Asus Fonepad 7, and although they both have the same video frame rates and the same 1920x1080 (Full HD) video resolution, the Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 also has a back facing camera with a much better resolution. So if you want that extra specs, you can buy Amazon Fire HDX 8.9, else you can save some money and buy the Asus Fonepad 7, giving up a couple specs and features.
