These tablets use Android OS (Operating System), but the Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has a more recent 4.4 version while HTC Flyer has Android 3.2, giving you lots of additional features and performance tweaks. The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 costs a lot more money than HTC Flyer, but it's still a convenient choice, as you can get a lot more features for that extra money.
