Huawei MediaPad M5 lite is a little bit better than the Amazon Fire HDX 8.9, getting a global score of 73.3 against 67.9. Both of these devices work with Android OS, but Huawei MediaPad M5 lite has a more recent 8.0 Oreo version while Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has Android 4.4 version, giving you lots of additional features. Huawei MediaPad M5 lite's design has the same thickness than Amazon Fire HDX 8.9, but it is much heavier.
