Comparison review
The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 is a bit better than Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, with a general score of 67.9 against 66.2. These tablets have Android OS (operating system), but the Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has an older 4.4 version while Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 has Android 4.4.2 version. Although Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 and the Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 were only released with a couple months difference, the Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 body is heavier but also just a little bit thinner.
Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 features a bit better hardware performance than Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, because although it has doesn't have an extra graphics processing unit, and they both have a Quad-Core processing unit, the Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 also counts with more RAM. Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has a sharper display than Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, because it has a bit bigger screen, a much better pixel number per inch of display and a way higher 1600 x 2560 resolution.
The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 features just a bit better camera than Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, because it has a way more mega pixels back camera and a much better 1920x1080 video definition. Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 features much more memory to install games and applications than Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, because although it has no SD memory slot, it also counts with more internal memory capacity.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 counts with a very superior battery performance than Amazon Fire HDX 8.9.
Although Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0. If you want to save some dollars, you can get the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, and give up a few specs and features, but you'll get the most with your money.
