The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has a global score of 67.9, which is much better than Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE's 58.8 global score. Both devices in this review have Android OS (Operating System), but Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has a newer 4.4 version while Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE has Android 4.0, giving a couple additional features and optimized performance. The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 is a a lot newer device, and it's also lighter and somewhat thinner than the Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE.
Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 features a much more vibrant screen than Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE, and although they both have a screen with the same size, the Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 also has a much greater display density and a much better resolution of 1600 x 2560px. Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 counts with a superior storage capacity to store more apps and games than Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE, because it has 64 GB internal storage capacity.
Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has a better hardware performance than Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE, because it has a larger number of cores. The Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE features a very superior battery performance than Amazon Fire HDX 8.9. Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 takes a lot better photographs and videos than Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE, because it has a back facing camera with a lot higher resolution and a much higher 1920x1080 video quality.
