Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018) has a general score of 68.3, which is a little bit better than the Amazon Fire HDX 8.9's global score of 67.9. These tablets include Android OS (operating system), but Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018) has the newer 8.1 Oreo version while Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has Android 4.4, providing you lots of additional features and improved performance. Although the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018) is somewhat thicker than Amazon Fire HDX 8.9, it's a little lighter and also newer.

The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 counts with a bit faster processor than Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018). Both of them have the same number of cores and 2 GB of RAM.
