Comparison review
The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has a score of 67.9, which is much better than the Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD's overall score of 57.6. Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 is a noticeably older and a bit heavier tablet than the Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD, but Amazon managed to make it a bit thinner anyway. Both of these tablets come with Android OS (Operating System), but the Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has an older 4.4 version and Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD has Android 6.0 Marshmallow version.
The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 features a more vivid display than Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD, because it has a little bigger screen, a better resolution of 1600 x 2560 pixels and a little bit better quantity of pixels in each inch in the display. The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has a bit superior processing unit than Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD, although it has an inferior number of cores and a lower amount of RAM.
The Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD takes much better photographs and videos than Amazon Fire HDX 8.9, and although they both have a 8 MP camera, the same video frame rates and the same (Full HD) video definition, the Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD also has a larger camera aperture to take better images in low light environments.
Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 features more storage to store more games and applications than Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD, because although it has no SD extension slot, it also counts with 64 GB internal storage capacity. The Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD has a really longer battery performance than Amazon Fire HDX 8.9.
Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 is way more expensive than Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD, but it's still a convenient choice, because you can get a lot more for that extra money.
