Galaxy Tab S 8.4 is much better than Amazon Kindle Fire HD 8.9 4G LTE, having a 74.5 score against 55.7. These tablets come with Android operating system, but Galaxy Tab S 8.4 has the newer 4.4.2 version and Amazon Kindle Fire HD 8.9 4G LTE has Android 4.0, offering some nice extra features. Galaxy Tab S 8.4 is a newer tablet, and it is also way thinner and notably lighter than Amazon Kindle Fire HD 8.9 4G LTE.

The Galaxy Tab S 8.4 features a little faster CPU than Amazon Kindle Fire HD 8.9 4G LTE, because although it has doesn't have an additional graphics processor, it also counts with a greater amount of RAM memory and a higher number of cores (and faster). Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 has a more vivid screen than Amazon Kindle Fire HD 8.9 4G LTE, because although it has a bit smaller screen, it also counts with a higher screen density and a better 2560 x 1600 resolution.
