Samsung GALAXY Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) is much better than Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7, getting a 77.4 score against 60.8. Both tablets in this review have Android OS (Operating System), but the Samsung GALAXY Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) has 4.4.2 version while Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7 has Android 4.2.2, so it offers a couple additional features and performance improvements. The Samsung GALAXY Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) body is somewhat thinner but way heavier than the Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7, and both were released only a couple months apart.
The Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7 counts with a bit sharper screen than GALAXY Note 10.1 (2014 Edition), because although it has a way smaller display and a way lower 1200 x 1920px resolution, it also counts with a little bit more pixels per display inch. Samsung GALAXY Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) counts with a very superior storage to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7, and although they both have exactly the same 64 GB internal storage capacity, the Samsung GALAXY Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) also has an external SD slot that supports a maximum of 64 GB.
Samsung GALAXY Note 10.1 (2014 Edition)'s processor is very similar to the processor in Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7, and although the Samsung GALAXY Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) has more RAM memory, they both have a 450 megahertz graphics processing unit and a Quad-Core processor. The Samsung GALAXY Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) counts with a much better camera than Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7.

So if you need that extra specs and features, you can buy GALAXY Note 10.1 (2014 Edition), but if you don't you can save some dollars and buy the Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7, resigning some features and specs.
