The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 has a general score of 62.8, which is slightly better than Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7's score of 60.8. These tablets work with Android OS (operating system), but the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 has the newer 7.1 Nougat version while Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7 has Android 4.2.2 version, giving you some extra features and increased performance. Even though the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 is a bit heavier than Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7, it's thinner and newer.

The Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7 features a better performance than Galaxy Tab A 8.0, and although they both have a Quad-Core CPU, the Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7 also has an additional graphics processor and a greater amount of RAM. The Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7 features a much better looking screen than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0, because although it has a bit smaller screen, it also counts with a way higher resolution of 1200 x 1920 pixels and a much higher screen pixel density.

Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7 counts with a greater memory for applications, games, photos and videos than Galaxy Tab A 8.0, because although it has no slot for an external memory card, it also counts with more internal memory capacity. The Galaxy Tab A 8.0 counts with a much longer battery duration than Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 takes way better pictures and videos than Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7.

Although Galaxy Tab A 8.0 is a better device, it is way more expensive than the Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7. So if you need that extra features, you can buy the Galaxy Tab A 8.0, but if you don't you can save some dollars and get the Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7, giving up a couple specs and features.
