Comparison review
Apple iPad mini 2 is better than Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9, getting a general score of 77.2 against 68.5. Even though the Apple iPad mini 2 and the Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 were released only a couple months apart, the Apple iPad mini 2 is just a little bit thinner and somewhat lighter. Apple iPad mini 2 comes with iOS 8.x operating system, and Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 has Android 4.2.2 operating system.
The Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 features a bit better screen than Apple iPad mini 2, because it has a little higher display pixel density, a quite better resolution of 1600 x 2560px and a little larger screen. The Apple iPad mini 2 features a much greater storage to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9, because it has 128 GB internal memory.
IPad mini 2's CPU is just as good as the processing unit in Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9, because although the iPad mini 2 has a lower number of slower cores and a smaller amount of RAM memory, it also counts with a 64-bit processing unit and a much better graphics co-processor. Apple iPad mini 2 counts with a way better battery performance than Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9.
The iPad mini 2 takes better photos and videos than Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9, although it has a much less MP resolution camera in the back and a smaller camera aperture which is not recommended for capturing images and/or video in poorly lited situations.
