Comparison review
The Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 has an overall score of 68.5, which is better than the Google Nexus 7's 59.3 general score. Both of these tablets come with Android OS, but Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 has an older 4.2.2 version and Google Nexus 7 has Android 5.1. Even though the Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 is somewhat heavier than Google Nexus 7, it's extremely thinner and also newer.
Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 has a more vivid display than Google Nexus 7, because it has much more pixels per screen inch, a much higher 1600 x 2560px resolution and a bigger screen. The Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 has a much better memory capacity to install games and applications than Google Nexus 7, because it has 32 GB more internal memory capacity.
