These tablets have Android OS (Operating System), but Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 has newer 4.2.2 version while Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) LTE has Android 4.1 version, so it offers some extra features and better performance. Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9's body is newer and a lot thinner, but also a little heavier than the Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) LTE.
