The Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 has an overall score of 68.5, which is much better than Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9's overall score of 58.1. Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9's design is way newer, somewhat lighter and just a bit thinner than Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9. Both devices in this review come with Android OS (Operating System), but Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 has the newer 4.2.2 version while Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 has Android 3.0 version.
Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 counts with a much better performance than Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9, because it has more cores and an extra GPU. Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 has a way better looking display than Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9, and although they both have a same size display, the Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 also has a much higher resolution of 1600 x 2560px and way more pixels per inch of screen.
The Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 features a much better camera than Galaxy Tab 8.9, because it has a back facing camera with a way higher 8 megapixels resolution. Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 and Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 feature incredibly similar storage capacity for applications, games, photos and videos, they have equal internal memory.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 has a really longer battery performance than Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9.
