The Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 is better than Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD, getting a general score of 68.5 against 57.6. Both tablets in this comparison review have Android OS (operating system), but the Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 has the older 4.2.2 version while Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD has Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
