Apple iPad Air 2 has a general score of 74.2, which is slightly better than Apple iPad 3's global score of 68.2. The Apple iPad Air 2 body is newer, notably lighter and much thinner than the Apple iPad 3. Both of these tablets work with iOS OS (operating system), but Apple iPad Air 2 has 8.x version and Apple iPad 3 has iOS 6.1.
IPad Air 2 counts with a faster processor than iPad 3, because although it has 1 less processing cores , it also counts with a higher amount of RAM and a 64-bit CPU. Apple iPad Air 2 counts with a little bit better looking screen than iPad 3. Both of them have the same exact resolution of 2048 x 1536, the same pixel density and a display of the same size.
IPad Air 2 captures clearer pictures and videos than iPad 3, and although they both have a F2.4 diafragm aperture, the same 30 frames per second video frame rates and the same video definition, the iPad Air 2 also has a camera in the back with a much better resolution. The Apple iPad Air 2 has as much memory for apps and games as the Apple iPad 3 one, both have exactly the same 16 GB internal memory capacity.
