Comparison review
IPad 3 is a little bit better than Amazon Fire HDX 8.9, with a general score of 68.2 against 65.1. The iPad 3 works with iOS 7.x OS, and Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has Android 4.4 OS. IPad 3 is better than Amazon Fire HDX 8.9, we must highlight that it is also a noticeably older, thicker and a lot heavier tablet.
Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has a bit better looking display than iPad 3, because although it has a bit smaller display, it also counts with a greater pixels density and a little higher 1600 x 2560 resolution. Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has a quite better hardware performance than Apple iPad 3, because it has 1 GB more RAM and a larger number of cores.
Amazon Fire HDX 8.9's memory capacity for games and applications is very similar to the Apple iPad 3 one, both of them have the same 16 GB internal storage capacity. IPad 3 has a very superior battery performance than Amazon Fire HDX 8.9. The iPad 3 captures much better pictures and videos than Amazon Fire HDX 8.9, although it has a way lower 5 mega-pixels resolution back-facing camera, a worse video quality and a tinier camera aperture which is not good for low-light photos and video.
IPad 3 is a little more expensive than the Amazon Fire HDX 8.9, but you can get a better tablet for that few extra dollars.
