Comparison review
The Apple iPad mini 2 has a global score of 77.2, which is just a bit better than the iPad 3's 71.1 overall score. Both of these tablets include iOS OS (operating system), but the Apple iPad mini 2 has a more recent 8.x version while iPad 3 has iOS 6.1 version. Apple iPad mini 2 is a newer tablet, and it's also notably lighter and somewhat thinner than the iPad 3.
The iPad mini 2 features a better performance than iPad 3, and although they both have 2 processing cores and 1 GB of RAM memory, the iPad mini 2 also has a 64 bits processing unit and a GPU. IPad mini 2 has a little sharper screen than iPad 3, because although it has a quite smaller screen, and they both have exactly the same 1536 x 2048px resolution, the iPad mini 2 also counts with a quite higher pixels number in each inch in the display.
The iPad mini 2 counts with a much greater memory to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than iPad 3, because it has 128 GB internal memory. IPad 3 has a really longer battery performance than Apple iPad mini 2, because it has a 11560mAh battery size instead of 6471mAh. The iPad mini 2 has a slightly better camera than iPad 3. Both have the same video resolution, a 5 MP resolution camera, a same size aperture and the same video frame rates.
Although iPad mini 2 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Apple iPad 3, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Apple iPad 3. If you are trying to save some money, you can get the Apple iPad 3, and give up a couple features and specs, but you'll get the most with your money.
