Comparison review
The Microsoft Surface Pro 3 is just a bit better than the iPad 4, getting a score of 72.2 against 70.8. Microsoft Surface Pro 3's body is heavier but a bit thinner than iPad 4. Microsoft Surface Pro 3 has Windows 8.1 Pro OS, and iPad 4 comes with iOS 7.x OS. The Apple iPad 4 features a brighter screen than Microsoft Surface Pro 3, because although it has a quite smaller display, it also counts with a slightly higher resolution of 1536 x 2048 and a just a bit higher amount of pixels per screen inch.
Microsoft Surface Pro 3 features a lot bigger memory capacity for applications, games, photos and videos than iPad 4, because it has more internal storage. The iPad 4 and the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 have very similar CPUs, because although the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 has doesn't have a graphics processing unit, and they both have the same number of cores, it also counts with more RAM.
The Microsoft Surface Pro 3 and iPad 4 have similar battery performance. Apple iPad 4 captures much better pictures and videos than Microsoft Surface Pro 3. Both have the same 1920x1080 (Full HD) video resolution, a 5 MP back camera and the same video frame rate.
Despite of being the best tablet between the ones we are comparing here, the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 is also the cheapest one, making it a very good choice.
