Comparison review
IPad Air 2 is just a bit better than iPad Air, with a 74.2 score against 74.1. IPad Air 2's design is newer, a little bit lighter and extremely thinner than the iPad Air. These devices come with the same iOS 8.x OS, so they should provide the user identical OS features. IPad Air features a display that's very similar to the iPad Air 2 one, both of them have exactly the same resolution of 1536 x 2048, a display with the same size and a higher pixel count per inch of display.
IPad Air counts with a bit more powerful processor than iPad Air 2, because although it has lesser RAM memory, and they both have a 64 bits CPU, the iPad Air also counts with more cores (but slower) and a graphics processor. The iPad Air 2 captures a bit better photographs and videos than Apple iPad Air, and although they both have the same video frame rate, a F2.4 aperture and the same video quality, the iPad Air 2 also has a back facing camera with a much better resolution.
The Apple iPad Air counts with a much bigger storage to store more games and applications than iPad Air 2, because it has 32 GB internal storage. The iPad Air counts with longer battery duration than iPad Air 2, because it has 8820mAh of battery capacity against 7340mAh.
Although iPad Air 2 is a better device, it costs a little more than the iPad Air, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as iPad Air. If you prefer to save some dollars, you can buy the iPad Air, and give up a few specs and features, but you will get the most with your savings.
