Comparison review
The iPad mini 2 is a little bit better than the Huawei MediaPad M5 8, having a 77.2 score against 75.5. IPad mini 2 has iOS 8.x OS, while Huawei MediaPad M5 8 comes with Android 8.0 Oreo OS. Although it's the best portable tablet in this comparison, it must be told that it is also a lot older, just a bit thicker and just a little heavier.
IPad mini 2 counts with a little bit better display than Huawei MediaPad M5 8, although it has a quite inferior amount of pixels per inch of screen, a little bit smaller screen and a bit worse 1536 x 2048 resolution. Huawei MediaPad M5 8 counts with a superior memory capacity to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than iPad mini 2, and although they both have exactly the same 128 GB internal storage capacity, the Huawei MediaPad M5 8 also has an external SD slot that admits up to 256 GB.
Huawei MediaPad M5 8 counts with a bit better hardware performance than Apple iPad mini 2, because although it has a 32 bits processor instead of 64-bits and doesn't have an additional graphics co-processor, it also counts with more RAM memory and a greater number of faster cores. The iPad mini 2 counts with longer battery lifetime than Huawei MediaPad M5 8, because it has a 27 percent bigger battery size.
The Apple iPad mini 2 and the Huawei MediaPad M5 8 count with really similar cameras, although the Huawei MediaPad M5 8 also has a larger diafragm aperture and a lot more MP camera in the back.
